As Associate Scientist you support the Research and Development projects/activities carried at the Global Application centers (all segments). Organize trials (e.g. development, piloting) together with scientists and technicians in the food lab and technical labs. Arrange prototypes characterization plans and contribute in execution.

Your mission
- Provides technical solutions in the area of nutrition with DSM nutritional ingredients such as vitamins, carotenoids, probiotics, and conduct stability studies thereof. .
- Contribute to the development of prototypes, mainly by conducting trials (lab and pilot scale) using different well established industrial technologies such as extrusion and spray-drying.
- Provides scientific inputs to colleagues regarding experimental design and interpretation of data and results.
- Delivers experimental results by developing, improving and applying complex and routine experimental protocols, supporting projects and prototyping activities.
- Characterizes product samples by different methods such as static light scattering, powder rheology, electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and viscosity.
- Organizes the laboratory environment. Plan and conducts stability studies. . Actively uses available digital technologies.
- Records data, writes protocols and reports. Prepares presentations in order to update project teams.
- As part of a team, executes experimental work to support research goals and business functions, while respecting DSM Quality and SHE requirements.
You bring
- Master degree in the field of food science/chemistry, food engineering, material science
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal in English.
- Have a “can do” attitude.
- Internship or experimental Master thesis
- Knowledge MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook).
