ENGINEERING LEAD, SUPPLY
who will lead a software engineering team of seven full-stack engineers within our Supply product team. The purpose of the Supply product team is to bring in second hand phones that we can refurbish and sell, as well as make the supply flow as smooth as possible for our suppliers, individuals selling their phones to us, as well as Swappie employees responsible for receiving the supply.
As an Engineering Lead at Swappie, you will have a great opportunity to use your leadership and mentoring skills and lead a team of software engineers on various seniority levels as part of a cross-functional product development team. You are responsible for providing the team guidance and support in their daily work, supporting their career development, and aligning the team goals with our business ambitions.

The tech team works with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud. As an Engineering Lead you will collaborate actively with other Engineering Leads, Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and other stakeholders across the organization. In this role, you will report to the Head of Product Development of Supply product area. You will get to lead your team to flourish in an organization of highly talented, fun, and supportive professionals, whose work has a concrete impact on both solving the global e-waste problem and the future success of Swappie as a company.
IN THIS ROLE YOU GET A CHANCE TO
- Lead the software development of Supply product area from discovery to delivery: planning, delivering software to production, retrospectives, and celebrating wins together
- Coach and mentor a software development team of seven full-stack engineers on various seniority levels from junior to staff level
- Be accountable for the technical design and implementation of your team’s systems and services
- Ensure the team has all the necessary resources and ways of working in place to solve concrete customer problems in an impactful way - Swappie engineers are not just writing code but making an impact
- Engage your team in their daily work and remove possible blockers
- Work together with product team members and stakeholders to evaluate new opportunities and decide on what to build next

- Have proven leadership experience: you have previously supported, motivated, mentored, coached, and empowered individuals and teams
- Collaborate and communicate well with non-technical stakeholders
- Have proven track record of creating customer value through software development - you care about impact on our customers and business, not just the tech
- Possess strong understanding of agile software development and operational excellence
- A thorough understanding of one modern tech stack and familiarity with technologies used at Swappie
- Are fluent in English, our working language
- Previous experience in the e-commerce world is a definite plus
