Job Description
- Execute and ensure adherence to Group Safety Health and Environment (SHE) strategy
- Provide leadership, guidance and expert advice on SHE issues
- Monitor compliance to SHE legal requirements
- Ensure compliance and effective management of Major Hazard Installations and associated emergency preparedness
- Act as a Change Agent to ensure Sustainability and ESG factors are actively integrated into the business
- Conduct or arrange SHE risk assessments
- Develop and implement SHE Risk controls, monitor and report on assurance and effectiveness thereof
- Actively monitor, review and report on SHE trends and work practices that will drive improved SHE performance and minimize operational risk to the business
- Contribute to decision making on critical planning and operational matters
- Ensure that the desired SHE culture is embedded in the business
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- BSc or Environmental Sciences Honours Degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years SHE management experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years in chemical industry plant or mining environment would be advantageous
- Environmental sustainability experience
- Environmental systems experience
- Demonstrated environmental management knowledge and skills
- Data Management and interpretation
